clubs in the world. This year they plan to host a full day open house which will showcase the wide variety of activities that they regularly offer the gay and lesbian community from "backing" to easy nature walks.
Beginning in the morning, one will have the choice of at least three different activities: a day hike up to Mt. Hollywood and Dante's View; a visit to the L.A. Zoo; or a two hour horseback ride. They also hope to schedule a rock climbing instruction class. The afternoon activities at the Visitor Center beginning at 2 pm include a barbeque with all the trimmings, volleyball, a nature walk, games, contests, camping equipment demonstrations and movies of upcoming weekend trips. The evening will feature an outdoor patio dance, talent show and raffle.
The price for the entire day including dinner is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. Horse rental and zoo admission is extra. Contact Bill (213) 874-1438 for tickets and information.
Asian/Pacific Confab Set For July 11
For the first time in California, gay and lesbian Asian/Pacific Americans will be meeting to share concerns, raise awareness, and build support among each other at a oneday conference set for July 11, 1987, in Los Angeles. Emerging as one of the results from the International Lesbian & Gay People of Color Conference held last November, an Asian/Pacific caucus has been active in organizing both in Northern and Southern California. The Los Angeles group will meet twice monthly to plan for this regional gathering which will include workshops on a variety of levels related to Asian/Pacific gays and lesbians. Interested persons are encouraged to become involved in the planning. For more information, contact: Roy at (213) 664-2479, Sacchi at 371-7237, or Steve at 599-6583.
